Traffic Report W/C 15th May 2017

Sligo Town 

Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract

  • To facilitate pipe laying works JFK Parade will continue to be closed to traffic until Friday 19th May.  Diversions will be in place via Abbey Street.  Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. 
  • To facilitate pipe laying works Rockwood Parade will be closed to traffic at the junction with Thomas Street on Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st May.  Vehicular access to Rockwood Parade will be via the entrance at Hyde Bridge (opposite the Glasshouse Hotel). Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. 
  • Pipe laying works will continue on Tonaphubble Lane. These works are expected to last 1 more week.  Temporary traffic lights will be in operation and minor delays can be expected
  • A full traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of all the works. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the works.

 

  • Pavement survey works will commence on Wednesday 17th May on the N4 at its junction with Hughes Bridge continuing north along the N15 to Scotsman Walk. Traffic management will be in operation with significant delays expected at peak times. Works are expected to be complete on Thursday 25th May.
  • Hoarding has been erected at the corner of Lord Edward Street and Union Street. Provision has been made for pedestrian access and works are expected to last several weeks.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.
  • Hoarding to be erected on Wine Street in front of the Gaiety Cinema on for four weeks. Provision for pedestrian access will be provided. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
  • Hoarding to be erected on Castle Street on Monday April 10th, 2017 for four weeks. Provision for pedestrian access will be provided. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
  • Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

 

Enniscrone Area

  • Drainage works will be carried out on the N59 at Corhownagh. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.
  • Verge improvements on R297 at Enniscrone Graveyard.  Temporary traffic lights will be in operation.  Minor delays can be expected.
  • Footpath works will be carried out on the Cliff Road, Enniscrone. Traffic lights will be in operation, Minor delays expected.
  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

   

Ballymote Area

N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin Road Project

  • Topographical Survey works are taking place along the N4 Sligo/Dublin national primary road from the N4/N17 Toberbride roundabout to approximately 1.0km south of Castlebaldwin Village.  

    The works are expected to be ongoing until the end of May during which time various traffic management systems will be in operation along the N4 and the adjacent local road network. Motorists are urged to proceed with caution through the works. Minor delays expected.    

 

  • Surface Drainage works will continue on Local Road L-5902 at Clockmine/Dromore. Traffic control will be in place and works are expected to last 2 weeks.
  • Surface Drainage and verge strengthening works will commence on Local Road L-1201 at Lavally. Traffic control will be in place and works are expected to last 2 weeks.
  • Surface Drainage works will continue on Local Road L-55062 at Knockadalteen. Traffic control will be in place and works are expected to last 1 week.
  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

 

Tubbercurry Area 

  • Road strengthening works will commence on the CR 414 at Cully cross, Curry to Banada Bridge on Monday 15th May 2017. A diversion via Curry village will be in operation with significant delays expected. Works are expected to last 3 days. A 50km/hr speed limit will be in operation within working zone.
  • Pavement survey works will continue on the R296 Cloonameehan. Traffic management will be in operation with medium delays expected. Works are expected to be complete on Tuesday 16th May.
  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

 

Strandhill Area

R292 – Ransboro

  • Kerbing works will take place at Ransboro on the R292. The works will involve the construction of a kerb line along the existing edge of the road in the vicinity of the roundabout. A full traffic management plan will be in operation. The works will last approximately 2 weeks. Minimal traffic disruption is expected. Motorists are advised to exercise caution on approach to the roundabout and through the work.
