Competition 1 – Essay
Write an essay about "What my County Council means to me" Maximum 500 words
Competition 2 – Art
Create a piece of art showing "What my County Council means to me"
Prizes – 2 x Full Scholarships for a course at a Donegal Gaeltacht Summer College 18.07.24 – 09.08.24 worth €795 each.
Accommodation, food, classes & events included
Send your efforts to emamhlaidh@sligococo.ie or by post to Edel Mhic Amhlaidh, Oifigeach Gaeilge, Sligo County Council, Áras an Chontae, Riverside, Sligo F91 Y763 before 29th February 2024
Artwork can be left at the County Council Offices F91 Y763 for the attention of an Oifigeach Gaeilge if required.
Make sure all entries include the student's name, year and school.
The winners will be chosen on 1st March and the scholarships will be awarded to students at an event in the County Council on 7th March at 11am where a teacher from the school and their parents will be welcome to join them.
All the artworks and essays will be on display in the Council during Seachtain na Gaeilge 2024
Please note competitions are only open to students who attend a secondary school in Sligo or secondary school students who reside in Sligo.
