End of Life Vehicles

A  European Directive, known as the ‘ELV Directive’ sets out specific measures to be put in place by Member States in relation to the collection, storage, treatment, dismantling, reuse, recycling and disposal of end-of-life vehicles.

It is an offence to abandon a vehicle on any private or public land.  All End-of-Life Vehicles must be collected by a permitted waste collector or alternatively brought to a Permitted/Licenced Waste Facility.  For a list of permitted facilities, please see

Permitted Facilities - http://www.sligococo.ie/Services/Environment/Waste/WasteManagement/PermittedFacilities/

and for permitted collectors, please see
