Traffic Report w/c 6th October, 2025

SLIGO URBAN AREA:

Clarion Road Drainage and Footpath Improvement Works

Drainage and footpath improvement works will be ongoing through w/c 6th October along Clarion Road. Traffic lights and/or Stop-Go traffic management operations will be implemented throughout the day. Delays can be anticipated, and motorists should plan alternative routes. SCC apologises for any inconvenience caused.

 

Mail Coach Road to Burton St. New Link Road Project

It is planned that footpath works, with associated traffic management, will commence at the junction of Burton St. / Old Market St. and Connolly St.. Other work will be ongoing, but will not be on public roads / footpaths.

 

SLIGO – DRUMCLIFFE AREA:

Footpath Enhancement Works

Footpath Enhancement works are being carried out at Ballyweelin, Rosses Point. Pine Grove, Grange & on L-7118 in Cliffony Village. Temporary Traffic Management will be in operation during the works. Sligo County Council apologies for an inconvenience caused

 

L-74031 Keelty

Road Surfacing works will be carried out on the L-74031 at Keelty. Temporary road closure and diversion will be in place. Local access will be provided

 

L-3401 Barnderg

Road Surfacing works will be carried out on the L-3401 at Barnderg. Temporary road closure and diversion will be in place. Local access will be provided.

 

Drainage & pothole repair works will be carried out at various locations across Sligo Drumcliff. Traffic Control will be in operation as required.

 

Verge & Hedge Cutting

Verge cutting on Regional roads will be carried out in the Sligo/Drumcliff area. Traffic control will be in operation, but no delays are expected

 

ENNISCRONE AREA:

Doonfin upper road closure:

The L-2303-26 at Doonfin Upper townland will be closed to all vehicular traffic from its junction with L-2304-0 at Farranyharpy and its junction with L-23033-0 Grange Beg to allow bridge works to be completed The alternative route for traffic will be via the Noth Via the L2304-0 and Farranyharpy , West via the N59 at Doonfin Lower and South via L2303-26 at Doonfin Upper/Grange Beg and vice versa. The period of proposed closure will be from Monday 6th October 2025 to Friday 14th November 2025 inclusive.

 

Drainage works will commence in Corballa on the N59/L6605-0 (105). Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.

Sligo County Council apologies for an inconvenience caused.

 

Drainage works will be carried out in Cloondervalley on the L65042-0 (121). Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation, but no delays are expected.

BALLYMOTE AREA:

Pothole repair works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation, but no delays are expected.

TUBBERCURRY AREA:

Verge trimming works will commence on the N17 Bellahy to Collooney from Monday the 29th of September 2025. Traffic control will be in operation with significant delays expected. Works are expected to last 7 days.

 

N17 Ballinacarrow to Clooncurra

Water installation and repair works are being carried out on the N 17 road from Ballinacarrow village to Cloonacurra. This works will take place on 30th   September and 1st October, Traffic Lights and traffic management will be in place. Uisce Eireann apologies for any inconvenience caused.

 

Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation, but no delays are expected.

 

SLIGO- STRANDHILL AREA:

Drainage works will continue in the Sligo/Strandhill area. Traffic control will be in operation, but no delays are expected.

Verge cutting on Regional roads will commence in the Sligo/Strandhill area. Traffic control will be in operation, but no delays are expected.

Kerbing works will be carried out within the graveyard.
