Closure of O’Connell Street and Fish Quay

Notice is hereby given of the Intention of Sligo County Council to close O’Connell Street & Fish Quay, Sligo

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROAD SECTION 75 OF THE ROADS ACT 1993 AND PART 8 ROADS REGULATIONS, 1994 (SI NO.119 OF 1994)

Closure of O’Connell Street and Fish Quay, Sligo

Notice is hereby given of the Intention of Sligo County Council to close the following roads:

O’Connell Street:

  • 7am on 8th August to 7am on 15th August, 2022

Diversion routes will be in place via John Street, Adelaide Street, Wine Street and Lower Knox Street.

Fish Quay:

  • 7pm on 15th August to 7am on 22nd August, 2022

Diversion routes as follows:

For traffic approaching from O’Connell Street, diversion will be via Lower Knox Street, Hyde Bridge, Markievicz Road, Hughes Bridge, Custom House Quay and Lower Quay Street.

For traffic approaching from Wine Street, diversion will be via Quay Street and Lower Quay Street

These temporary road closures are necessary to allow for completion of O’Connell Street Enhancement Phase 2 Scheme.
