Traffic restrictions will be in place this evening, Thursday, to facilitate the transport of a wide vehicle between Sligo and Ballaghaderreen via Charlestown.

It is expected that the vehicle will leave Sligo Port at 9pm and travel via Ballast Quay, the Inner Relief Road/Dual carriageway along N4 to Collooney and N17 from Toberbride Roundabout to Charlestown, and N5 Charlestown to Ballaghaderreen.
Major traffic disruption will occur, particularly between Cloonacurra and Curry on N17, as this section of road is narrow and traffic will not be able to pass the loads.
Traffic will have to give way at various locations along the N17 and remain parked ‘off-road’ until the load passes. The Gardai will be assisting with traffic management when the wide load is in transit

- 21.00 to 23.00: Sligo Port/N4 to N17 junction roundabout
- 23.00 to 03.00: N4/N17 Junction to N17/N5 Junction
- 03.00 to 05.00: N5 to Frenchpark
