An Garda Síochána are holding a parade and an awards ceremony in Sligo this coming Saturday 6th May.

The event officially kicks off on Teeling Street at 3pm from where AGS will march to City Hall, Quay Street via Castle Street, Grattan Street, O’Connell Street and Lower Knox Street.
Teeling Street will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic between 2:30pm and 3pm to facilitate parade assembly. During this time southbound traffic will be diverted via Abbey Street, Charlotte Street and Chapel Hill while northbound traffic will be diverted along Old Market Street, High Street, Market Street and back into Grattan Street. Teeling Street will re-open to vehicular traffic shortly after 3pm.
Motorists can expect short delays as the parade makes its way along Castle Street / Grattan Street and O’Connell Street.
Quay Street will remain closed to vehicular traffic for much of Saturday afternoon (approx. 12 noon to 5pm). During this time taxis will queue along Lower Knox Street / Wine Street (Tohers Pharmacy to The Swagman Bar).
