Funding for Rosses Point pier and Raughley Harbour

Funding of €111,750 has been approved under the 2017 Fishery Harbour and Coastal Infrastructure Development Programme towards the cost of provision of a Pontoon and access ramp at Rosses Point Pier.

Other works will include a modest increase in the length of the slipway.  The total estimated cost of the Project is €149,000 with Sligo County Council providing the balance of funding.  It is hoped that works will commence mid Summer 2017 and be completed within 6 weeks approximately.

A further allocation of €26,250 has been approved towards the installation of a Pier Crane and ancillary works at Raughley Harbour.  The total estimated cost of the Project is €35,000 with Sligo County Council again providing the balance of funding.  Works will be carried out later this year.

The Cathaoirleach Councillor Hubert Keaney welcomed the funding

"The works at Rosses Point and Raughley will greatly enhance these vital amenities, and is great news for the local communities, especially the people who use these facilities on a daily basis."
