Council supports Light up Orange Campaign Sligo City Hall

Sligo City Hall was illuminated Sunday evening in support of a Suicide Awareness campaign.

The ‘Cycle against Suicide’ initiative encouraged local authorities to light their public buildings orange.

The Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Councillor Seamus Kilgannon said the Council was pleased to get involved’ to create awareness of Suicide Prevention Week. The simple but vitally important message the organisers wish to convey is  'Its Ok not to feel Ok, and absolutely Ok to ask for Help'.

Their  aim is to direct people to where the critical help is available both locally and across making this concept a success, and I think we should support them in any way we can in this campaign.’
