The Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Councillor Hubert Keaney has welcomed today’s announcement of a new round of funding for Sligo under the Clár Programme.

CATHAOIRLEACH WELCOMES CLÁR PROGRAMME
"This programme has been hugely successful in supporting the social and economic development of our rural communities. The €5million in funding being made available nationally will greatly benefit rural areas all over the country, especially areas in population decline by providing support for small scale infrastructural projects."
CLÁR 2017 will provide funding under the following measures:
Measure 1: Support for Schools/Community Safety Measures (€2M)
Measure 2: Play Areas (€0.75M)
Measure 3: Targeted Community Infrastructure Needs (€1.5M)
Measure 4: First Response Support Measure (€0.75M)
The closing date for funding applications is 5th May 2017
