New Heritage Plan being prepared for Sligo

New Heritage Plan being prepared for Sligo Aughris Head Co. Sligo

What priorities or actions would you like to see in the new County Sligo Heritage Plan?

The County Sligo Heritage Forum, facilitated by the Heritage Office, Sligo County Council has begun the process of preparing a new Heritage Plan for County Sligo and would like to hear your views on what priorities or actions should be included in the new plan.

County Sligo Heritage Forum is a heritage partnership between local government, state agencies, development agencies, farming organisations, education and training agencies and the community & voluntary sector.  All with an active interest in or responsibility for Sligo's heritage.

The Heritage Act, 1995 states that the national heritage includes: monuments, archaeological objects, heritage objects, architectural heritage, flora, fauna, wildlife habitats, landscapes, seascapes, wrecks, geology, heritage gardens and parks and inland waterways.

We want to know the aspects of Sligo’s Heritage that you value and want to see celebrated and conserved.  We are seeking your input in setting the priorities for Sligo’s Heritage Plan by completing the survey below on or before Friday 31st March 2023.

Information gathered during the pre-draft consultation process will contribute to the development of a new Heritage Plan for County Sligo and will assist in prioritising areas for heritage action up to 2027.
