‘Be Winter-Ready’ 2021 Campaign

Sligo County Council welcomes the Government’s 'Be Winter-Ready 2021 Campaign' which provides information on being prepared and staying safe during the winter months, while also living with the impacts of COVID-19.

Everyday tasks can become more difficult in winter and we now need to prepare, including for possible severe weather events. By taking simple steps we can all reduce the impact of such events and cope with them when they actually happen.

The Be Winter Ready booklet and website www.winterready.ie provide information on staying healthy for older people, safe winter driving and flooding. The booklet includes contact details for all the organisations and agencies that can provide further information.

Specific information is provided for the farming and business communities.

Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Councillor Paul Taylor endorsed the campaign stating that

“The Be Winter campaign calls on us to make practical preparations in our homes and businesses to cope with impact of winter. It is a timely reminder to check on elderly relatives and neighbours during severe weather events.”
