The Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Councillor Dónal Gilroy, has announced details of the Cathaoirleach’s Awards 2025.
Cathaoirleachs Awards 2025
Honouring our Community Volunteers - Cathaoirleach’s Awards 2025
Councillor Gilroy said
‘We all know individuals who make an extraordinary difference in their communities through their dedication and service. The Awards Scheme offers a meaningful opportunity to formally recognise and celebrate these outstanding contributions. With categories covering a wide range of voluntary efforts, I encourage everyone to take a moment to nominate someone—an individual or a group—who truly deserves this recognition.
It is inspiring to witness so many people giving their time, energy, and passion to support others. As a society, we must never take this generosity for granted. Honouring our volunteers not only acknowledges their efforts but also reminds us of the positive impact that selfless service can have on our communities.’
