AND AGREED

“That a vote of sympathy be extended to Councillor P. Branley and family on the death of his niece, Maura”.

Proposed by Councillor P. Conmy
Seconded by Deputy J. Devins

AND AGREED

“That a vote of sympathy be extended to Mr and Mrs Denis Daly and their family on the death of their daughter, Triona”.

It was agreed as a mark of respect to observe a minutes silence and to adjourn the meeting for 10 minutes.

The meeting resumed at 10.40am

SUBMISSION NO. 36: 

Proposed by Councillor J. Leonard
Seconded by Councillor D. Bree

“Development may be permitted in one green belt in special circumstances where it involves the relocation of an inappropriate or incompatible use from a town or village centre to a more rural or greenfield location, and where a public benefit is likely to arise.  Such cases will be determined by the planning authority and the elected members on their individual merits”.

As agreement was not reached in relation to this matter the Cathaoirleach, Councillor PJ Cawley asked that a poll be taken.

For the motion:  Barrett, Bree, Fox, Leonard, MacManus, McGarry, B. Scanlon.
Against the motion:  Barry, Branley, Cawley, Colleary, M. Conlon, Conmy, Devins, Fleming, Gormley, Higgins, Mc Guinn, Murray, Parke, Perry, Queenan, E. Scanlon.

As the result was 7 for and 16 against the motion, the Cathaoirleach declared the motion lost.

“That no. 36 be zoned and be adopted as proposed by the applicant”

As agreement was not reached in relation to this matter the Cathaoirleach, Councillor PJ Cawley asked that a poll be taken.

For the motion:  Barrett, Barry, Branley, Cawley, Colleary, M. Conlon, Conmy, Devins, Fleming, Fox, Gormley, Higgins, Leonard, MacManus, McGarry, Mc Guinn, Murray, Parke, Perry, Queenan, E. Scanlon.
Against the motion:  Bree, B. Scanlon.

As the result was 21 for and 2 against the motion, the Cathaoirleach declared the motion carried.

As the result was 6 for the motion, 13 against the motion and 2 abstainees, the Cathaoirleach declared the motion lost.

“That proposal 132 in the Sligo and Environs Plan be accepted as proposed by Tom Phillips and Associates, St. Stephens Green, Dublin”.

As agreement was not reached in relation to this matter the Cathaoirleach, Councillor PJ Cawley asked that a poll be taken.

For the motion:  Barry, Branley, Cawley, Colleary, M. Conlon, Devins, Fleming, Gormley, Higgins, MacManus, Mc Guinn, Parke, Perry, Queenan, E. Scanlon.
Against the motion:  Leonard, Murray, B. Scanlon.
Abstainees:  Barrett, Bree, Conmy, McGarry.

As the result was 15 for the motion, 3 against the motion and 4 abstainees, the Cathaoirleach declared the motion carried.
