To request confirmation on whether a road is in the charge of Sligo County Council, you must submit a formal written request to the Roads Section.

The service has now moved online and can be accessed via the following link:

Please ensure that you have all of the following items before lodging the application online:

  • Full property address (include specific Eircode if available).
  • A legible ordnance survey or land registry map with the site or property outlined in colour and the abutting road highlighted.
  • Payment of €100 per application.
