Sligo County Council Launches Pilot Age Friendly Rightsizing Scheme in Cranmore

As part of the ongoing Cranmore Regeneration Project, which continues to deliver positive change, improved housing options and enhanced quality of life for residents of the area, Sligo County Council is pleased to announce the launch of a new Pilot Age Friendly Rightsizing Scheme, which will provide new housing opportunities for older residents within the Cranmore Regeneration Area.

This pilot age friendly rightsizing scheme is designed to support Local Authority and Approved Housing Body tenants currently residing in the Cranmore regeneration area who may wish to move to a home that better suits their existing and future needs.

Rightsizing means finding a home that is right for you at this stage of life. For many people, this may involve moving to a smaller property that is easier to maintain, or to a home on a single level that offers greater comfort, accessibility and independence into the future.

As part of this pilot rightsizing scheme, a small number of new age-friendly one and two-bedroom homes are becoming available in Benson Court and Geldof Drive in Cranmore.

Sligo County Council is now inviting Expressions of Interest from Local Authority and Approved Housing Body tenants currently living within the Cranmore Regeneration Area who wish to be considered for the scheme.

Those interested in learning more about the scheme, or who wish to submit an expression of interest can contact: Cranmore Regeneration Office, Devins Drive, Sligo or by emailing cranmoreregeneration@sligococo.ie.

The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is Friday, 21 August 2026.

It will not be possible to accept expressions of interest after the closing date.
