Retrofit Demonstration Rig in Sligo

Sligo County Council, in partnership with LOETB Mount Lucas and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), is proud to host the Mount Lucas Mobile Retrofitting Rig in Quay Street Car Park, Sligo, from Tuesday, 19th August to Thursday, 21st August.

This state-of-the-art NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) mobile unit offers hands-on training in home energy upgrades and retrofitting techniques.

While showcasing best practices in retrofitting, there will also be a number of experts on hand to advise on different grant supports.

The initiative aims to enhance general energy retrofit awareness and provide hands-on training on energy efficiency and retrofitting techniques, focusing on Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB). The Sligo Leitrim Energy Agency will also be available to provide advice about SEAI Home Energy Grants.

Free Retrofit for Homeowners Courses:

  • Retrofit for homeowners course covers basic information on insulation types, reasons for energy upgrades, small changes to aid energy efficiency, different SEAI programmes and some technical information. Approximately 2 and a half hours duration.

These courses are free of charge, but booking is essential.
