Sligo County Council is pleased to announce the formal signing of a contract for the construction of 20 new social housing units at Pirn Mill Road, Sligo.
Contract Signed for 20 New Social Housing Units at Pirn Mill Road
The project will be delivered by Finna Construction, following their appointment as the successful building contractor for the scheme.
The design by TAKA Architects is the winning proposal from the Town Centre Living architectural design competition, which was run by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage in conjunction with Sligo County Council. The competition sought innovative housing solutions that would promote compact growth and support the revitalisation of Sligo town centre.
Construction has now commenced on site, with completion and delivery of the new homes anticipated in Q3 of 2027.
Welcoming the commencement of works, Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Cllr Dara Mulvey, said:
“I am delighted to see work commence on this important social housing development at Pirn Mill Road. These 20 new homes will provide much-needed accommodation for local families while also supporting the ongoing regeneration of Sligo town centre. I look forward to seeing the project progress and to welcoming the new residents when the homes are completed in 2027.”
