“To ask Sligo County Council in light of the new museum that is under construction in the town park Ballymote, which will be the home of 19th-century horse-drawn carriages, to seek an update on two issues of concern to the community. This will also be another addition to visitors in the town park and complement Ballymote Tidy Towns and Sligo County Council on this initiative.

(a) contact Uisce Éireann to ensure there is a water supply to the toilet block that was constructed many years ago but never opened. This is an essential amenity for children and adults attending the playground and park facility

(b) contact ESB to ensure that the power pack at the rear of this unit will have sufficient power and a separate outlet for other needs in the park?”

4.2 To consider the following motion as submitted by Councillor D. Mulvey:

“To ask Sligo County Council to be aware that Uisce Éireann are due to lay a new water main from the treatment plant at Rockfield towards the Church-NS direction.  Can I ask, please, that the road in front of Rockfield Manor estate, be resurfaced when the water main is laid due to the poor condition of the road. Also, can I get an update on the storm drainage project outside the NS and Mountain Inn, commercial business as I understand, a survey was carried out this year due to the commercial premises being flooded on a few occasions.”

4.3 To consider the following motion as submitted Councillor D. Mulvey:

“To ask Sligo County Council that the road L14019 Cloonamahon, be included in the resurfacing programme 2027.  Also, repairs carried out on the road leading from the five crossroads towards Temple House, due to the serious bad dips near the five crossroads junction.”

4.4 To consider the following motion as submitted Councillor G. Mullaney:

“To ask Sligo County Council to upgrade the walkway in Aughanagh Cemetery, Ballinafad.”

4.5 To consider the following motion as submitted Councillor G. Mullaney:

“To ask Sligo County Council to improve the sight line at the L1202/ R284 junction going towards Srananagh.”

4.6 To consider the following motion as submitted Councillor G. Mullaney:

“To ask Sligo County Council to upgrade running pass post code F52 K389 and Lough Nascool a matter of urgency.”

4.7 To consider the following motion as submitted Councillor B. Gallagher:

“To ask Sligo County Council that the Roads Department give priority to the assessment, improvement, and provision of bus stops in the Ballymote / Tubbercurry / West Sligo Municipal and particularly along the N17 corridor and in towns and villages including Curry, Tubbercurry and Ballinacarrow. Poles with hardstanding are no longer acceptable.”

4.8 To consider the following motion as submitted Councillor M. Clarke:

Conscious that in January this year the members of Sligo County Council unanimously welcomed the confirmation that the extension of the Western Rail Corridor from Athenry to Claremorris is to commence as a priority project to be completed by 2030 and further welcomed the confirmation by Iarnród Éireann that the railway from Claremorris to Sligo was to be kept for future rail use as set out in the Regional Spatial Economic Strategy (RSES) with a view to its future development as a freight and passenger railway connecting Sligo to Galway, serving Ireland West Airport.  “To ask Sligo County Council:

(1) expresses its shock and dismay at the U-turn and decision of Iarnród Éireann to lease the 35km section of the railway linking Collooney with Bellaghy for the construction of a Greenway

(2) demands that Iarnród Éireann immediately rescind this appalling decision.”

4.9 To consider the following motion as submitted Councillor M. Clarke:

“To ask Sligo County Council to insist that any proposed Greenway be constructed at a safe distance from the rail line.”

4.10 To consider the following motion as submitted Councillor M. Clarke:

“To ask Sligo County Council to call on the Government to prioritise and provide the necessary capital funding for the reopening of the remaining 47-mile Collooney to Claremorris section of the Western Rail Corridor, thereby re-opening the entire line providing an InterCity rail service between Sligo and Galway and enabling urgent regional development in line with the National Planning Framework strategy.”

4.11 To consider the following motion as submitted Councillor L. Brennan:

“To ask Sligo County Council to remove a sharp bend on the L-14011, Drumfin to Ballymote Road, in the townland of Cloonlurg, known locally as Brady’s bend and as an in-term measure to install digital speed signs and Rumble Strips to highlight this dangerous bend.  There have been numerous accidents at this bend over the years, most recently a car smashing into a front perimeter wall. The traffic on this road has increased significantly with cars and trucks using it to access on and off the new N4 dual carriageway. There is also a road junction on this bend accessing the Newpark area.”

4.12 To consider the following motion as submitted Councillor L. Brennan:

“To ask Sligo County Council to add additional link roads to the county gritting plan from Coola cross into Riverstown village and out to Drumfin cross.  This is a very important access route to have gritted - as it supports school buses, over 500 students attending Coola Secondary School, over 8 businesses in Riverstown village, a Local Link service, two national schools and a crèche all of which cannot operate until roads are gritted.  This also leaves a huge burden on home care staff who are not able to travel to attend our sick and vulnerable people in our communities.”

4.13 To consider the following motion as submitted Councillor L. Brennan:

To ask Sligo County Council Roads Department for an update on the review findings of the 60 Km speed limit on the L3700 (old N4).”
