The meeting was attended by the Chief Executive of Sligo County Council Ciarán Hayes, which focused on the need to support and maintain the retail sector in rural Ireland.
Group member Councillor Paul Taylor, Leas-Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council said
“This was a very important opportunity for members of the Save Rural Retail grouping to make their presence known to the minister and to implore him to do what is within his power to back up rural communities by introducing policy measures that support the small shops and businesses on which rural Ireland depends.”
