Cathaoirleach Commends Sligo Tidy Towns Volunteers

‘There were many worthy winners, with Coolaney village winning a gold medal, Sligo town winning a silver medal, and Riverstown and Ballintogher being highly commended. Other towns and villages throughout the county scored very highly in their category. These achievements would not have been possible without the tremendous efforts of our many dedicated Tidy Towns volunteers in towns and villages all over Sligo. They can be seen week in, week out, they are very special people and I am delighted to see their efforts formally recognised in this way.
I have seen at first hand the commitment of the Tidy Towns committees and their volunteers, they will not rest on their laurels, and they are to be applauded for working so hard to enhance their local communities.’
