Minutes of September Meeting of the Community Safety Plan Subgroup held at 2.15 pm on Thursday 10th September, 2026 Online via Teams

Ms Kira Smith, Chairperson, welcomed everyone to the meeting including newly appointed members Ms. Lorna Curry and Ms. Caroline Forde.

3. Confirmation of Minutes of 13th August 2026

4. Matters arising

No matters arose.

 

5. Update on public consultation process for Community Safety Plan

  • Ms. Mairead Clerkin gave an overall summary of the process including 8 public consultation events held to date and one further scheduled for Sligo ATU.  Extensive advertisement including on Ocean FM and Mid-West Radio.  At least 420 surveys completed to date.  Focus groups will be decided following consultation and advice from Meehan Tully.
  • Ms Pippa Black advised the meeting that the DPO has enquired about a disabled persons related focus group and any communication to be with the DPO.  Ms. Mairead Clerkin replied that this will be considered with Meehan Tully as above.
  • Ms. Edel Doran advised the meeting the Arts Office are undergoing a consultation for their Arts Plan and groups they have reached out to, could be of interest for our focus groups.  Again Ms. Mairead Clerkin informed the meeting that that will similarly be considered with Meehan Tully as above.
