Road and Traffic Report W/C 20th May, 2013
Sligo Borough
- Road repairs will be carried out on the inbound lane of the N15 on the approach to the Scotman’s Walk. Traffic management will be in place with minor delays expected. Works expected to last 1 day.
- Footpath repairs ongoing at various locations within Cranmore Estate. Works will be ongoing for 2 – 3 weeks.
- Finishing works will commence on Grattan Street pavements on Sunday 19th May. Works expected to last 3 days with minimum disruption to traffic.
- Cycle lane installation works ongoing at Carraroe Roundabout. Works expected to last 3 - 4 weeks. Traffic management will be in operation.
- A road opening licence has been granted for works at the Caltragh/Crozon Junction. Works expected to last 1 week. Traffic management will be in place.
- A scaffolding licence has been granted for works at High Street (formerly Innisfree Hotel). The licence has been granted for 2 weeks. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
- A scaffolding licence has been granted for works at Wine Street (at O’Hehirs/Kool Kidz). The licence has been granted for one week. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
- A scaffolding licence has been granted for works at No 49/50 the Mall, Sligo. The licence has been granted for one week. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
- A scaffolding licence has been granted for works at Lady Erin monument, Market Cross. The licence has been granted for one week.
- Pothole repairs will be carried out at various locations within Sligo Borough area.
- Footpath repairs will be carried out at various locations within Sligo Borough area.
Sligo Strandhill
- Roads maintenance works will be carried out on Co Road 290. Works expected to last 1 week and traffic management will be in place.
- Road maintenance works will be carried out on Co Road 289. Works expected to last 1 week and traffic management will be in place.
- Erection of signage will take place on various roads in Sligo/Strandhill area.
- Drainage works will be carried out on County Road 292 and County Road 283.
Sligo Drumcliffe
- Roadworks continuing on Regional Road No. R279 at Mullaghmore. Works expected to last 3 days. Traffic Control will be in operation. Motorists to exercise caution.
- Pavement Surface Remedial works will continue on the N15 between Rathcormack to Drumcliff. Traffic management consisting of a Stop/Go system will be used during the day and major delays are anticipated. Motorists are asked to drive with caution. A 50KPH speed limit is in place. All works are expected to be completed by Friday 24th May.
Enniscrone Area
- Roadworks are ongoing on the N59 from Farranyharpy to Ballygreighan, Temporary traffic lights are in operation 24 hours a day and motorists are asked to drive with caution. The 60KPH speed limit is still in place. All works are scheduled to be completed at the end of August.
- Signage erection will take place on the N17 at Thornhill Bridge (Ballinacarrow Bridge). Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.
- Pothole repairs will be carried out throughout the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
- Drainage works will be carried out in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
- Verge improvement works will take place in Kilnamanagh. Traffic management will be in place. Minor delays expected.
- Drainage works will continue on Main Street, Coolaney. Traffic management will be in place. Minor delays expected.
- Road widening words will commence on Quay Road on Tuesday 14th May. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.
- Drainage works will commence in the Rockfield/Coolaney area. Traffic management will be in place. Minor delays expected.
Tubbercurry Area
- Surfacing dressing works will commence on the R294 Cloonloo on Monday the 20th May 2013. Traffic control will be in operation with major delays expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 1 day. A 50km/h speed limit will apply within the site until completion of all operations.

Works are expected to last 1 day. A 50km/h speed limit will apply within the site until completion of all operations.
- Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
Ballymote Area
- Fencing and site demobilisation works are ongoing at Ardloy on the N4. Traffic management will be used intermittingly during the day and motorists are asked to drive with caution. The 50KPH speed limit is still in place. All works are expected to be complete within one week.
- Drainage works will re-continue on Local Road L-5203 at Ballydawley/Doonamurray Td’s. Traffic management will be in place. Works are expected to last 2 weeks.
- Pothole repairs will be carried out in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
