Road and Traffic Report W/C 14th May, 2012

Sligo Area

Sligo Borough

  • Traffic calming works continuing at Oakfield Road for approximately 2 weeks.  Traffic management in operation.
  • Road Markings will be carried out at Devins Drive, Cranmore.  Works expected to last 1 day.
  • A hoarding licence has been granted for works at Chapel Street and Cranmore Road. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
  • Works ongoing at former GHQ Building at Lower Knox Street/ O’Connell Junction. Works expected to last 1 week with restricted pedestrian access.
  • A scaffolding licence has been granted for works at 19 Temple Street.  The period of this licence is from 4th to 11th May 2012.  Pedestrian access will be maintained.
  • A scaffolding licence has been granted for works at Charles Street.  The period of this licence is from 5/3/2012 to 18/6/2012. Pedestrian access will be maintained. 
     

Sligo - Strandhill

  • Road surface overlays will be taking place at Tully, Grange East and Kilmacowen.  Local diversions will be in place.  Works expected to last 1 week.
  • Minor Road Repairs will be carried out at various locations in the Sligo/Strandhill area.
     

Sligo Drumcliffe

  • Roadworks commencing Tuesday 15th May 2012 on Local Road No. L-3303-0 in Ballygilgan, Lissadell. Works expected to last two days. Traffic Control will be in operation. Delays may be expected. Motorists to exercise caution.
  • Roadworks commencing Thursday 17th May 2012 on Local Road No. L-3208-27 in Artermon, Raghley. Works expected to last two days. Traffic Control will be in operation. Delays may be expected. Motorists to exercise caution.

 

Enniscrone Area

  • Road 80 Kilmacurkan, Easkey, Co. Sligo has now re-opened. A special speed limit of 35km/hr will be in effect on this road.
  • Archaeological Works taking place on the N59 at Grange Beg. Minimum disruption to traffic expected.
  • Pothole repairs will be carried out throughout the Enniscrone area.  Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out on the Quay Road at Dooneen/Lecarrownaveagh. A temporary road closure will be in place during the works. Local access only. Traffic diversions will be in place via R297 and Killanley road.  A speed limit of 50km/hr will apply within the work site.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out in Doonalten. A temporary road closure will be in place during the works. Local access only.  A speed limit of 50km/hr will apply within the work site.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out in Doonflin Upper. A temporary road closure will be in place during the works. Local access only. A speed limit of 50km/hr will apply within the work site.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out in Brookaun. A temporary road closure will be in place during the works. Local access only. Diversions via Monereagh. A speed limit of 50km/hr will apply within the work site.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out in Ballinphull/Ballinlig. Traffic management will be in place. Minor delays expected. A speed limit of 50km/hr will apply within the work site.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out in Tullaghan/Kinagrelly. A temporary road closure will be in place on Monday 14th, Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th May on the Hungary Rock / Collooney junction. Diversions on N59 via Cooney lane / Moylough /Coolaney. Traffic management will be in place. Minor delays expected. A speed limit of 50km/hr will apply within the work site.

 


Tubbercurry Area

  • South Sligo water mains replacement works are continuing to facilitate the replacement of the water mains in the Monasteraden Area. There will be delays and speed restrictions on the L-4104-42 from the Roscommon boundary northwards towards Monasteraden Village. There will also be delays on the Gurteen to Ballaghdreen road from Gurteen village.
  • Road strengthening works will commence on CR 445 Carrowntober, Tubbercurry on Thursday the 17th May. Traffic control will be in operation with major delays expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 2 days. A 50km/h speed limit will apply within the site until completion of all operations.
  • Road strengthening works will continue on CR 475 Deechomade, Bunnanaddan. Traffic control will be in operation with major delays expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 1 week. A 50km/h speed limit will apply within the site until completion of all operations.
  • Road strengthening works will commence on CR 473 Everlauns, Bunnanaddan. Traffic control will be in operation with major delays expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 1 week. A 50km/h speed limit will apply within the site until completion of all operations.
  • Road widening works will commence on R294 Mullaghroe, Gurteen. Traffic control will be in operation with major delays expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 10 weeks. A 50km/h speed limit will apply within the site until completion of all operations.
  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

 


Ballymote Area

  • Road Restoration will be carried out on the R295 at Derrygoolagh/Carrowcrory. Traffic control will be in operation and works are expected to last 1 day. A speed limit of 50km/hr will apply within the work site.
  • Surface Drainage works will continue on the R290 at Rathrippin, Collooney. Traffic management will be in place. Works are expected to last 1 week.
  • Road Restoratrion will be carried out on the L-5506 at Branchfield and Cloonamahon. A temporary road closure will be in place during the works. Local access only. A speed limit of 50km/hr will apply within the work site.
