Road and Traffic Report w/c 30th August, 2010

Sligo Area

Sligo Borough

  • Traffic calming works ongoing on the N15 National Primary Road at Shannon Eighter.  Traffic Management will be in operation. Major delays can be expected. Works are expected to last 2 weeks.
  • Abbey Street Car Park will be closed from Monday 16th August 2010 to Friday 17th September 2010 to facilitate necessary upgrading works.
  • Works ongoing at Connaughton Road to facilitate a new pedestrian crossing.  Some delays are expected.  Works are expected to last 2 weeks.
  • Civil works ongoing at High Street. Traffic management for vehicles and pedestrian will be in operation. Delays are expected.  Works are expected to last 2 weeks.
  • Drainage works at Cleveragh Road are ongoing. Traffic management will be in operation. 
  • A scaffolding licence has been granted for Chapel Hill.  The period of licence is from 30/08/10 to 13/09/10.  Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Sligo-Strandhill

  • Surfacing road works to commence on Regional Road R292 and County Road C282 at Tully.  Works are expected to last 4 days.  Traffic management will be in operation
  • Bridge works will take place on Regional Road R287 at Aughamore.  Works are expected to last 5 weeks.  Traffic lights will be in operation during working hours.

Sligo-Drumcliffe

  • Strengthening works will be taking place in Creaghadoo on Local Road L-3403-40.  Diversions will be in place, and delays can be expected.
  • Surface Dressing works will be taking place in the Cloghermore/Tully Area on R286, on Drum Road L-3405-0, and Lisgorey on L-3407-22.  Diversions will be in place, and delays can be expected.

Enniscrone Area

  • Surface dressing and road marking works associated with the N59 Pavement Surfacing Repairs Contract - 2010 will continue, weather permitting, on the N59 National Secondary Road at Templeboy, Carrigans, Camcuill, Owenbeg, Caltragh, Carraun and Culleens Townlands. A traffic management system will be in operation and delays can be expected. Works are expected to last 2 weeks.
  • Minor drainage works will commence along the road verge on the N59 National Secondary Road at Farranyharpy Td. A traffic management system will be in operation, however no delays are expected. Works are expected to last 2 weeks.
  • Surface dressing will commence on the N59 at Carraun on Monday 30th August/Tuesday 31st August Traffic management will be in place. Minor delays suspected.
  • Surface dressing will commence on the R298 at Carrounurlar on Monday 30th August/Tuesday 31st August. Traffic management will be in place. Minor delays suspected.
  • Pothole repairs will be carried out throughout the Enniscrone area. Traffic Management will be in place.  Minor delays expected.
  • Bridge repair will take place on Kilanley Bridge on Quay Road. Traffic management will be in place. Minor delays expected.


Tubbercurry Area

Tubbercurry

  • Drainage works will commence on local road 495 Clogher Td, Monasteraddan. Manual Traffic control will be in operation with major delays expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 1 week (Weather depending). A 50km/h speed limit will apply within the site until completion of all operations.
  • Bridge widening works will commence on the N17 between Tubbercurry and Curry on Monday the 23rd of August. Manual Traffic control will be in operation with major delays expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 6 weeks. A 50km/h speed limit will apply within the site until completion of all operations.
  • Patching unit will be working in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

Ballymote Area

  • Pavement repair works associated with the N4 and N17 Pavement Surfacing Repairs Contract - 2010 will commence on Wednesday 1st September on the N4 and N17 National Primary Road at Cloonacurra and Carrowreilly, Lackagh and Drumderry Townlands. A convoy “Follow Me” traffic management system will be in operation and major delays can be expected. Works are expected to last 5 weeks.
  • Fencing works will continue on the R284 at Drumaskibbole. Works are expected to last for 3 months
  • Surfacing works will commence on Local Road L-54013 at Tawnagh Td. Diversions will be in place with Local Access only. Works are expected to last 1 day.
  • Surfacing works will commence on Local Road L-1901 at Ballinphul Td.  Diversions will be in place with Local Access only. Works are expected to last 1 day.
