Road and Traffic Report W/C 30th January 2012
Sligo Area
Sligo Borough
- Footpath replacement works are ongoing at Market Street/Grattan Street. It is anticipated that these works will last 2 weeks with minimum disruption to traffic.
- Works will commence on the installation of a new Pedestrian Crossing on Chapel Hill (between Scoil Fatima and Mercy Secondary School). Works anticipated to last 2 weeks. Traffic management will be in operation.
- A road opening licence has been granted for works at Holborn Street/Stephen Street. Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 12pm on Tuesday, 31st January, Wednesday, 1st and Thursday 2nd February. Traffic management will be in place.
- A scaffolding licence has been granted for works at GPO, Lower Knox Street/Fish Quay, Sligo. The period of licence is from 8/1/2012 to 5/2/2012. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
- A hoarding licence has been granted for works at Chapel Street and Cranmore Road. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
- Works ongoing on the erection of new route definition signage will commence along the N4 / Inner Relief Road and approach roads. Works expected to last 2 weeks.
- Footpath repair works will be carried out at Oakfield Estate, with minimum disruption to traffic. Works expected to last 2 weeks.
Sligo Strandhill
- Footpath works will be carried out on Airport Road. Traffic management will be in operation.
- Works will commence on a Pedestrian Crossing on the approach to the Promenade in Strandhill Village. Works expected to last 2 weeks. Traffic control will be in operation.
- Footpath cleaning and verge trimming will commence between Ballydrehid and Ballisodare on the N59. Works expected to last 1 day. Traffic Control will be in operation.
Sligo Drumcliffe
- Verge Filling and Accommodation Works will continue on the N15 National Primary Road betwe en Urlar and Cullagh Beg Tds. Traffic control will be in operation and major delays can be expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 1 week.
- Paving and surfacing works associated with the N15 Pavement Overlay Contract will continue on the N15 National Primary Road between Edenreagh and Cliffony. Traffic control will be in operation and major delays can be expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 7 weeks.
- Road works are continuing on Local Road 272 Rosses Point village. Works are expected to last 1 week.
Enniscrone Area
- Water pipe installation works to continue on local road L2605 known as Quay road, Castleconnor (Enniscrone to Ballina Road). The particular section of installation will be from Killanley Bridge to the Mayo Border. This project is part of the upgrade and takeover works for the Castleconnor group water scheme. Works will take 6 weeks to complete. Traffic lights will be in operation. Traffic disruption will be kept to a minimum.
- Verge improvement works will be carried out on the N59 at Dromore West. Traffic management will be in place with minor delays expected.
- Pothole repairs will be carried out throughout the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
Tubbercurry Area
- South Sligo water mains replacement works are continuing. The L-8107-0 Road between Monasteraden village and the R294 Tubbercurry to Boyle road will be closed to traffic between the hours of 7 am and 7pm daily, to facilitate the replacement of the water mains in the area. Diversions will be adequately signed on all approach roads for the duration of the works, Emergency and local access will be accommodated for the duration of the works. There will be delays and speed restrictions on the L-4104-42 from the Roscommon boundary northwards towards Monasteraden Village.
- Paving and surfacing works associated with the N17 Pavement Overlay Contract 2011 Curry to Bellahy will recommence on the N17 National Primary Road between Curry and Bellahy. Traffic control will be in operation and major delays can be expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 14 weeks.
- Drainage works will commence on the R294, Rathscanlan, Tubbercurry. Traffic control will be in operation with major delays expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 1 week.
- Footpath construction works will commence on CR445, Carrowntober, Tubbercurry. Traffic control will be in operation with major delays expected in the vicinity of the site. Works are expected to last 2 weeks.
- Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
Ballymote Area
- Pothole repairs will be carried out in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in place with minimum delays expected.
