Ballymote Local Area Plan

The elected members of Sligo Council Council adopted Ballymote Local Area Plan 2005-2011 on 6 December 2005.

Ballymote LAP, which was prepared following consultation with a wide range of local interests, consists of a written document and a set of maps. The Plan sets out detailed objectives and land Picture of the Ballymote Local Plan Coveruse zoning for the town and its environs, including objectives for housing, community needs, open space, industry and town-centre development. It also addresses issues such as transport, urban design and the protection of heritage assets.

Following screening and consultation with prescribed environmental authorities, the planning authority has determined that the implementation of Ballymote Local Area Plan is not likely to have significant effects on the environment. Therefore, Strategic Environmental Assessment was not required.
