Dromore West, the venue for the first in a series of information road shows hosted by County Sligo LEADER Partnership proved to be a success. Dolores McSharry, Rural Resource Worker with Sligo LEADER Partnership felt from the feedback she received 'that the public were delighted to get so many agencies and support organisations available under the one roof to share their information and advice with the public'
County Sligo Leader Partnership plans to hold three more information road shows, one in north Sligo, one in south Sligo and finally one in east Sligo. The aim of the road show is two fold. Firstly to provide a broad range of information to the general public, especially those who are long term unemployed, CE participants, lone parents, people with disabilities and low income small holders etc. In addition, it is hoped that the information road show will provide an opportunity to share their information with the public.
In attendance at the recent road show held in Dromore West were FAS, Department of Social and Family Affaris, Easkey Family Resource Centre, Sligo LEADER Partnership, Sligo County Enterprise Board, Teagasc, Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS), Sligo County Development Board, Health Service Executive and Sligo County Council.
