Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for inclusion on a panel from which offers of employment may be made for the following post:
Annual Retainer €11,687 - €14,442 per annum.
Fees for attendance at drills: €19.86 per hour
Fees for attendance at call-outs: €39.72 (first hour) €19.86 (per hour thereafter)
The fees are doubled for call-outs between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. and on weekends and public holidays.
Sligo County Council reserves the right to short-list candidates based on the information submitted on their application form. Only those candidates who are who are short-listed will be called for interview. Candidates may also be required to undergo a number of aptitude tests to determine suitability to become a Retained Sub-Officer. It is a requirement that successful candidates must, on receipt of a fire or other emergency call, be in attendance at the station within five minutes.
