Proposed Amendment of Enniscrone Local Area Plan 2004 - 2010

Sligo County Council proposes to amend the Enniscrone Local Area Plan 2004-2010 (LAP) in accordance with Sections 19 and 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000(as amended).

At the Ordinary Meeting on 1st February 2010, the members of Sligo County Council resolved that

“all objectives of the Enniscrone Local Area Plan, including zoning objectives be maintained unchanged and that the only amendment of the LAP relates to the extension of its life by three years to 2013.”

SEA screening

Following screening for potential environmental impact and consultation with the prescribed environmental authorities, the Planning Authority has determined that the implementation of the proposed amendment is not likely to have significant effects on the environment. Therefore, full Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is not required. A copy of this decision is available for inspection at the Planning Office of Sligo County Council and on the Council’s website.

Public consultation

Public consultation on the proposed amendment will take place from Friday 11th June 2010 to Friday 23rd July 2010, both dates inclusive.

A copy of the Council resolution and a brief progress report relating to Enniscrone LAP will be available for inspection or purchase from:

Planning Section, Sligo County Council, County Hall, Riverside, Sligo: Monday – Friday: 9.00 am – 5.00pm (including lunchtime)

Your views on the proposed amendment are invited. Submission should be made in writing (hard copy or e-mail), headed “Enniscrone LAP amendment” and sent to:

A report with recommendations on all valid submissions or observations received will be prepared and submitted to the Members of the County Council for their consideration.

All submissions received by 4.00 pm on Friday, 23rd July 2010 will be taken into consideration before making the amendment.
