Draft Sligo County Development Plan 2011-2017

Public display and consultation – 30 June to 8 September 2010

Sligo County Council has prepared a Draft Development Plan for County Sligo (CDP) for the period 2011 to 2017. The Draft Plan consists of two volumes:

Volume 1 sets out an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of County Sligo, addresses a range of issues, including management of growth, providing housing, supporting balanced economic development, conserving environmental quality and delivering improved infrastructure.
Volume 2 of the Draft Plan includes detailed zoning and development objectives for 30 settlements.

The Draft Plan also includes The Draft Record of Protected Structures and is accompanied by the following documents:

Environmental Report (Strategic Environmental Assessment)
Appropriate Assessment Screening Report (Habitats Directive Assessment)
Strategic Flood Risk Assessment Report

Public Display of Draft Plan

Copies of the Draft Development Plan and associated documents will be placed on public display from Wednesday 30th June 2010 to Wednesday 8th September 2010 (both dates inclusive) and may be inspected at the following locations:

Planning Office, Sligo County Council, County Hall, Riverside, Sligo:
Monday – Friday: 9.00 am – 5.00 pm

Sligo County Library, Stephens St., Sligo:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday: 9.30 am – 5.00 pm Thursday: 9.30 am – 8.00 pm

Sligo Reference Library, Westward Town Centre, Bridge Street, Sligo:
Monday – Friday: 9.30 am –12.45 pm & 2.00 pm– 4.45 pm

Tubbercurry Area Office, Teach Laighne, Tubbercurry, Co.Sligo:
Monday - Friday 9.00 am - 1.00 pm & 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm and Library (during Library opening hours)

Ballymote Area Office, Ballymote Court House, Ballymote, Co. Sligo:
Monday - Friday 9.00 am - 5.00 pm and Library (during Library opening hours)

Enniscrone Area office, Enniscrone, Co. Sligo:
Monday - Friday 9.00 am—5.00 pm and Library (during Library opening hours)

North Sligo Area Office, Court House Drive, Grange, Co. Sligo:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 12 noon - 4.00 pm

The Draft Plan and associated documents will be available for viewing and download from the County Council’s website at www.sligococo.ie/cdp from the 30th of June 2010.

Copies of the Draft Plan and associated documents (or individual maps therefrom) may be purchased during the public display period in hard copy or CD format from the County Council Planning Offices.

Written Submissions

Your views on the Draft Plan and associated documents including the Environmental Report are invited. All submissions and observations should be made in writing (hard copy or e-mail) headed “Draft Sligo County Development Plan 2011–2017” and sent to: Ms. Anna Jones, Administrative Officer, Planning Section, Sligo County Council, County Hall, Riverside, Sligo. Submissions can also be e-mailed to the Development Planning Unit at dpu@sligococo.ie

All written submissions or observations received by 4.00 pm on Wednesday 8th September 2010 will be taken into consideration before the making of the Plan.

A report with recommendations on all valid submissions or observations received will be prepared and presented to the Members of Sligo County Council for their consideration. Closing date for submissions and observations 4.00 pm, Wednesday, 8th September 2010.

During the month of July 2010, a number of public consultation workshops will be held in each electoral area of the County. The exact dates and venues for these workshops will be published in due course.
