Standing List of Horticultural Suppliers 2010 - 2012

Sligo Local Authorities intend to update select lists of horticultural suppliers who are registered on the Parks Department Standing list of horticultural suppliers 2010 - 2012. Suppliers not currently registered are invited to provide information so as to be included on Council’s list for one or more of the following categories of supply from the period 21st March 2010 to 22nd March 2012.

HORTICULTURAL SUPPLIERS 2010 -2012

• Category 1 –Supply of Landscape Nursery plant materials including supply of specimen and semi mature trees, supply of  shrubs, hedging, roses and / or herbaceous plants, seasonal bedding plants
• Category 2- Supply of bulbs
• Category 3 - Supply of horticultural sundries including fertilisers, grass seed, chemicals, tree planting accessories
• Category 4 -  Supply of bulk horticultural materials including bark mulch, compost, top soil, specialist sands, decorative stone, garden mulch , paving , stone and concrete products
• Category 5 - Supply of horticultural signage, printing
• Category 6- Supply of personal protective equipment, safety storage equipment
• Category 7 – Supply of horticultural machinery and equipment.

Companies may apply to be included for one category, a combination of categories, or all categories. Companies on the Council’s current select list of suppliers 2008 – 2010 do not need to re-apply. Non listed companies wishing to be considered for inclusion should apply to Sligo Borough Council in writing indicating which supply categories they wish to be considered for, and provide the name and address of the company, company profile and details of company products and services that can be supplied.  Up to date price lists, catalogues or product lists with pricing should be included where relevant. The list will remain valid for two years from establishment with the option for suppliers to register with Sligo Borough Council at any time. Companies without their own internet access can avail of access through their local County Council Library. Pre booking of this service is essential.

Sligo Borough Council is subject to the terms of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 1997. If companies consider that any of the information supplied by them is either commercially sensitive or confidential in nature, this should be highlighted and the reason for its sensitivity specified. In such cases, the relevant material will, in response to FOI requests, be examined in the light of the exemptions provided for in the FOI Act.

The Council does not bind itself to invite quotations or tenders from any or all of the contractors / companies appointed to the standing list and compilation of the standing list is at the sole discretion of the council. Completed submissions should be addressed to, or deposited with, the Parks Department, Sligo Borough Council , City Hall, Quay Street, Sligo clearly marked ‘Submission - Standing List for Horticultural Suppliers 2010 – 2012’  to arrive no later than 4.00 pm on Thursday 25th  February 2010.
