Temporary Closing of Road - Gortlowan Road

SECTION 75 OF THE ROADS ACT, 1993

Notice is hereby given of the decision of Sligo County Council to close to public traffic, Regional Road R287-83 from the intersection of the R287 and the R290 at Gortlownan to facilitate the construction of the Gortlownan Road Group Water Supply Scheme (Ballintogher No.2).

The section of the R287 road that is being closed is located from the intersection of the R287 and the R290 at Gortlownan to a point 3800m West, to the intersection of the R287 and the L-3605.

Local Access will be provided to residents/landowners but not to ‘through traffic’.

The period of closure is from 16th November 2009 to the 26th February 2010 from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm each day

The alternative route to Ballintogher will be via Local Road L-3605-43.
