Sligo County Council, in conjunction with the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government’s Race Against Waste campaign, is hosting a ‘Small Change’ seminar on Wednesday 24th May at 10.00 a.m. in the Mespil Room, The Sligo Park Hotel to advise businesses in the hospitality sector how to better manage their waste.
‘Small Change’ is a business programme developed by Race Against Waste. The aim of the programme is to inform small to medium sized enterprises on how to reduce, reuse and recycle their waste and how to comply with the packaging regulations. In Sligo, this seminar, is being targeted towards members of the hospitality sector to include – hotels, guest-houses, bars and restaurants.
There will be a number of guest speakers on the day presenting on issues such as the legislation affecting business in terms of waste management, while a Race Against Waste spokesperson will offer a number of small change guidelines that can be easily implemented in any enterprise. In addition, practical case studies will demonstrate a company approach to waste management.
