The Degree of Treatment Required at the New Sewage Works
The Sligo wastewater treatment works will provide secondary treatment so as to produce an effluent to the standards set out in the Second Schedule, Part One of the Urban Waste Water Treatment Regulations 2001, as follows:

UV (ultra violet) treatment for bacterial reduction will be provided to protect mariculture activities in Sligo Bay area.
