PROPOSED FIRE STATION DEVELOPMENT AT RATHNAKELLIGA, BALLYMOTE CO. SLIGO

Aim of the Project

The aim of this project is to provide a new Fire Station for Ballymote on the site of the existing Fire Station, and adjacent lands.

This Project will comprise:

• The demolition of the existing Fire Station
• The Construction of a new Fire Station, drill yard, parking facilities, associated landscaping and footpath realignment works.

Functional requirements of the Fire Station:

• To facilitate the emergency turn-out of the Fire Brigade
• To accommodate fire Brigade appliances and equipment, in a state of permanent readiness for use;
• To provide appropriate facilities for fire brigade personnel, commensurate with the level of fire brigade activity;
• To facilitate routine testing and maintenance of appliances and equipment
• To facilitate ongoing training of fire brigade personnel in all weather conditions.

Nature and extent of Overall Development

The proposed new Fire Station provides a two storey building housing an appliance bay for 2 no. fire appliances, communications room, offices, lecture room, canteen, changing facilities, workshop, stores, and on site, a fire service drill tower, drill yard and 14 no. car parking spaces. The Proposal includes provision of walls and fencing to boundaries, site landscaping, and all associated Site Development Works, including connection to existing drainage and water supplies, and the construction of 50m length of access roadway.

Roof:  Tegral Broad Rib Profile Metal Decking
Windows: Double glazed, powder coated aluminium windows
