County Sligo Heritage Plan 2007-2011
Sligo County Council in partnership with the Sligo Heritage Forum is currently implementing the County Sligo Heritage Plan 2007-2011, the second heritage plan for Sligo. The new plan follows on from the successes of the first five year heritage plan which operated from 2002-2006.
Four strategic themes have been established to facilitate structured heritage development over the next five years. These themes are:
The Plan sets out 63 actions to be delivered within a five year period to support the implementation of the strategic themes. Implementation of the Plan will be overseen by the Heritage Forum with appropriate working groups and will be supported and co-ordinated by the Heritage Office. The Plan is funded by Sligo County Council in partnership with The Heritage Council.

Audit of traditional crafts and skills
Historic graveyard survey
Placenames survey
Field Monument Advisor Scheme
Information day for owner’s of heritage buildings
Heritage access audit
Heritage awareness survey
Condition reports for Keelogues and Toomour Churches
Launch of Sligo’s Natural Heritage poster
