Fire Brigade Charges

When the fire brigade receives an emergency call-out to an accident / incident, a cost is incurred on the owner of the property whom benefited or would have benefited from the service provided by the fire brigade at that accident / incident. Sligo County Councils Fire Service will then issue an invoice to the beneficiary for an amount determined by the type of incident attended. Below is a breakdown of the different type of incidents and how the charges are calculated.

Special Services Full Cost + 30%
False Alarms €450.00 per incident
False Alarms – Domestic €150.00 per incident

 

Pay your Fire Brigade Charge

You can pay by either of the following methods;

  • Pay Online 
  • In person to Finance Section, Sligo County Council Offices, Riverside Sligo 
  • Pay by bank transfer quoting customer id as reference.  IBAN: IEI6BOFI90544018581472   IBIC: BOFIIE2D
  • Pay by Cheque/Postal Order/Bank Draft.  Please forward to Finance Section, Sligo County Council, County Hall, Riverside, Sligo

Can I get a reduction in the Fire Brigade Charge?

The council have introduced a waiver scheme / reduced charge for beneficiaries of their service. Those eligible for a reduction in charges should complete the Application for Waiver-Reduction of Fire Brigade Charges (PDF) - 67 kbs and forward the completed application form to Finance Section, Sligo County Council, Riverside, Sligo. The council will then respond by advising on the final cost taken into account if the beneficiary is entitled to a reduction or waiver in part or full.
