Environmental Awareness Introduction
Sligo County Council employs an Environmental Awareness Officer charged with the task of increasing awareness in relation to current legislation, the promotion of sustainable waste management, litter control, supporting national campaigns and hosting a variety of practical and local environmental initiatives.
It is largely agreed that awareness and education are an essential provision for improving our environment. Target audiences for awareness activities are typically school children, youth groups, residents associations, tidy towns committees, small businesses and can include any group or individual that requires information on what practical measures they can take to help protect and enhance their local environment.
Contact the Environmental Awareness Officer at:

Try composting – composting kits are available very cheap from the county council offices.
