Research Projects

The Office of Community and Enterprise completed a number of research projects including the Sligo Atlas and Profile and Rural Transport Audit

The Office of the Community and Enterprise through its involvement in the preparation of the 10 year Strategy, has also, to date, completed a statistical profile of the county, which encompasses data on economic, social and cultural activity, demographics, etc. This data is also mapped on G.I.S. and can be made available (at a charge) to those wishing to avail of it.

In 2002, a service audit and needs assessment was undertaken as part of a wider national rural transport study. This Rural Transport Audit provides

  • Details of existing transport provision within the county.
  • An assessment of need, rural travel patterns.
  • Key findings and conclusions.
