Tidy Towns Local Competition Results 2008
Sligo County Council, through the Community & Enterprise Section, has worked with Tidy Towns Committees, for a number of years providing advice and financial support. Committees throughout the County have taken part in the County Competition which has six categories and a number of Committees also enter the National Tidy Towns Competition. This year a total of 92 applications were received and our cross-departmental judging panel undertook assessments which concluded at the end of May.
Sligo County Council wishes to acknowledge the level of cross-community effort of this event; the evidence of this voluntary work was very visible during the assessment visits at all the entry locations. At its July meeting, Sligo County Council approved the grant recipients and prize winners in this year’s Competition.
