Gender Equality

CDB Gender Equality Programme

The Office of Community and Enterprise participated in the CDB Gender Equality Programme along with five other County Development Boards

Between May and December 2001, a gender proofing training initiative was carried out with six County Development Boards – Sligo, Donegal, Galway, Offaly, Roscommon and Westmeath. This initiative was funded by the Dept of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and was in response to the Government’s commitment to gender proofing in the National Development Plan. The outcome of this initiative was the publication of a Gender Proofing Handbook to provide information and practical assistance to those planning to gender proof strategies or development plans.
