Innovation Working in the Community

Photographed on right are members of Ballisodare Community Council, elected representatives and executives of Sligo County Council on the occasion of the handing over of the lease for Young’s Quarry to the Ballisodare Community Council. The Community are commencing work on a unique project which will see the development of Playing Fields and Community Sports facilities in conjunction with a Green Waste Composting facility which the Community will run on behalf of the Council. This is an innovative joint venture between the Local Authority and the Community which will provide badly needed facilities for the surrounding area.  Work on the development of the sports facilities is well advanced and the development of the composting facility will commence shortly.
