Funding for Projects

Partnership Committee apply to LANPAG for more Funding for Projects

The Partnership Committee has applied for over €70,000 to the Local Authority National Partnership Advisory Group (LANPAG) for a project funding. The Committee is proposing seven Partnership projects for both local authorities which will cost in excess of €186,000.

The following are the projects proposed:-

• Workplace Health Promotion
• Mobile Welfare Units
• Review of Delivery of Planning Service
• In House Committee (Borough)
• Social Function for Retired Staff
• Support Funding for Staff Magazine ‘Contact’
• Return to Learning (Phase II)

RETURN TO LEARNING
Massive Response to ‘Return to Learning’ Programme

Following the presentation of the ‘Return to Learning’ Programme at the Area Staff meetings in January of both local authorities, it has emerged that there has been an encouraging response to the initiative.

Course organisers Cathy Powell and Aisling Keenaghan from Sligo Vocational Education Committee have told ‘Contact’ that they are very encouraged with the number of staff that have applied for the course. This is the second year that ‘Return to Learning’ has been offered to staff in Sligo County Council and Sligo Borough Council.
