CUSTOMER SERVICES

The Customer Service Desk continues to provide a first point of contact both for telephone callers and face to face customers, and enables Sligo County Council to provide an informed and prompt response to customers. The Customer Services Desk provides general information, application forms and brochures for every service area of the Local Authority as well as answering queries and dealt with in excess of 4,700 queries in 2005. The benefits of providing a central customer service facility is that it provides customers with a first point of contact for information. Sligo County Council endeavour to make it as easy, convenient and pleasant as possible for customers to do their business and customers can be confident that their query will be dealt with efficiently by trained members of staff.

Staff from the Customer Service Desk took part in the Options Information Road Show hosted by Sligo Leader Partnership and this involved going to different locations throughout Sligo namely Dromore West, Tubbercurry, Grange and Gleann and providing information on services offered by the Local Authority. This proved very successful with many agencies and support organisations available under the one roof to share their information and advice with the public. They also participated in the information evening which was held for migrant workers and organised by Omagh-Sligo Partnership.
