Road Signage Works

• Works will continue on The R297 and R298 between Dromore West and Enniscrone
• Location of KN gangs - gangs will be in the Pearse Road and Devins Drive

Sligo Town

• Improvement works will be taking place in the vicinity of Summerhill Roundabout all this week.  Traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works, which will include reducing from two lanes to one lane along the approaches to the roundabout and on the circulatory route.  Resulting delays can be expected.

• N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin Road Project

  Ground Investigation works are taking place along the N4 Sligo/Dublin national primary road from the N4/N17 Toberbride roundabout to approximately 1.0km south of Castlebaldwin Village.  These works consist of:

  • Slit trenches across the road network
  • Rotary coreholes
  • Trial pits
  • Dynamic probing
  The works are expected to be ongoing until mid March during which time various traffic management systems will be in operation along the N4 and the adjacent local road network. Motorists are urged to proceed with caution through the works. Minor delays expected.   
    
• Roadworks will continue in Cliffoney village on the N15 National Primary Road.  Traffic management will be in operation and delays may be expected. Motorists to exercise caution.
• Surface water drainage works continuing on Local Road L-7403, Barnarobin, Drumcliffe.  Traffic management will be in operation. Motorists should exercise caution
• Due to necessary traffic light refurbishment work at the junction of the N4 and Markievicz Road (the north side of Hughes Bridge), these traffic lights will be out of order during normal working hours on Tuesday 21^st and Wednesday 22^nd of February.  Traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works.  This will include reducing southbound traffic to one lane on the approach to the junction from the northern end, and will also involve the temporary closure of Markievicz Road.  Diversions will be in place for the duration of the works.  Some level of traffic disruption and delays is inevitable as result of these works.
• Hoarding has been erected at the corner of Lord Edward Street and Union Street. Provision has been made for pedestrian access and works are expected to last several weeks.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.
• In order to facilitate works at Summerhill Roundabout on the N4 Dual carriageway, a traffic management scheme will be in operation at the approached to the Roundabout. The works involve landscaping of the roundabout. Motorists are advised to exercise caution on the approach to the roundabout. The works will last 2 weeks.
• A Scaffolding licence has been granted for Connolly Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last 2 weeks. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
• Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.
• Works will take place on the entrance to The Fairgreen, Temple Street.  These are expected to last 2 weeks. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
• Tree felling operations will take place on the R292 Kilmacowen/Beanfield on Monday 27^th February. The works will involve trimming of existing hedge, cutting branched of overhanging trees. The works will last 1 day. Traffic management will be in the form of local detour via L-7512-0 and L-7509-0 in Kilmacowen. 
• Hedge cutting/Verge trimming will take place in the Sligo Municipal District on the roads listed here under.  Hedge cutting will last approximately 1 day on each road.  Traffic management will be in the form of Stop/Go system.  Minor traffic disruptions are envisaged.

Enniscrone Area

• Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
• Drainage works are to continue in Ballycummin. A temporary road closure will be in place. (local access will be provided)
• Footpath repairs will commence on Main Street, Coolaney on Tuesday 21^st February. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

Ballymote Area

• Footpath construction works will continue on the R296 at Carrownanty, Ballymote. Works are expected to last 2 weeks. Traffic control will be in place with minimal delays expected.

Tubbercurry Area

• House connections from the new watermain and erection of marker plates will continue on Masshill Road in Tubbercurry.  Local Traffic Management will be in place for the duration of the works.  Works are expected to last 1 more week.  Minor delays may be expected.
• Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
• Storm water maintenance works will continue on the R294 and other local primary roads in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
