Traffic Report W/C 24th July 2017

Sligo Town

Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract

The contractors will be taking Builders holidays for 2 weeks from Monday 24th July with a reduced presence on site over this period;

The street will have a north bound lane closure in place with diversions in place and signs posted.  There are 5 different northbound diversions available at the following locations:

  • Lower Pearse Road and Teeling Street will re-open to 2 way traffic during the week.
  • Boundary box installations on footpaths will be ongoing in the Tonaphubble area and along Castle Street.
  • Road crossings to facilitate gulley connections will be ongoing along the Lower Pearse Road.
  • Traffic Management will be in place for both motorists and pedestrians.  Motorists are advised to drive with caution. Minor delays can be expected. 
  • Pavement survey works will take place Wednesday 26th July to Friday 28th July on the N4 in Sligo Town, N15 in Tully and the N15 in BunduffTraffic management will be in operation with medium delays expected.
  • A Scaffolding licence has been granted for Thomas Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last until 28th August 2017. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
  • A Scaffolding licence has been granted for Charles Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last until 28th August 2017. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
  • A Scaffolding licence has been granted for 2 Bell’s Terrace, Pearse Road, Sligo. Works are expected to last until 14th August 2017. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
  • Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.

  

North Sligo Area

  • Verge trimming will continue on the N15 National Primary Road from Moneygold, Grange northwards to Bunduff.  Traffic Management will be in place and delays may be expected.  Motorists to exercise caution.  Works expected to last one week. 

  

Enniscrone Area

  • Pavement survey works will take place Wednesday 26th July to Friday 28th July on the N59 in Ballysadare Village and the N59 in Castleconnor.  Traffic management will be in operation with medium delays expected.
  • Wall construction is continuing at the Cloona Graveyard, Enniscrone. Traffic management is in place. No delays expected.
  • Verge trimming will be carried out on the R297/R298. A stop/go system will be in operation, minor delays are expected.
  • Footpath works will continue in the Hollow, Enniscrone.  Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.
  • Drainage works will be carried out on Bellawaddy River on Wednesday 26th July, and Thursday 27th July.  Temporary road closures will be in place, local access will be provided.
  • Drainage works will be carried out in the Enniscrone area. Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.
  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

  

Ballymote Area

  • Improvement works will commence on the R284 in Geevagh on the 26th July 2017.  Traffic Management will be in place and minor delays may be expected. Motorists to exercise caution. Works expected to last three weeks.
  • Verge trimming will commence on all junctions on the R284 from Sooey to the County Boundary at Ballyfarnon.  Traffic control will be in operation and works are expected to last 1 week.
  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Ballymote area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

  

Tubbercurry Area

  • Pavement survey works will take place between Wednesday 26th July and Friday 28th July on the N17 Tobertelly and the N17 Curry. Traffic management will be in operation with medium delays expected.
  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

  

Strandhill Area

  • Verge trimmingwill take place on the following Regional Roads:-
    • R292 – Sligo- Strandhill - Ballydrehid
    • R284 – Carrowroe – Ballygawley
    • R287 – Carrowroe – County Boundary
    • R290 – Collooney – Ballygawley – Ballintogher

    The works are expected to last 2 weeks. A stop/go traffic management plan will be in operation. Only minor traffic disruption is envisaged.
