Road and Traffic Report

Traffic Report W/C 27th March 2017

Sligo Town

  • Friday 31st March 2017- Due to repair work on a major water-main leak, Sligo County wishes to advise motorists and other road users that traffic management will be in place on the N16 on Ash lane from 9:30am on Monday next  3rd April.

    Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract

    Works will take place on Cleveragh Road between Cemetery Road and Cleveragh Drive (The Back Avenue).  A full traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the works.

  • Works will take place on the R-287-0 at Carrowroe Hill (between Carrowroe Retail park roundabout and Carrowroe Roundabout). The works will consist of footpath realignment and upgrade. The works are envisaged to last 2 weeks. A full traffic management plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the works.
  • Road strengthening will take place on the Local road L-2101-25, Collooney to Coolaney road at Kilnamanage.  The works will start on Wednesday 29th March and are expected to take 2 days. A diversion will be in operation for the duration of works on site – the diversion will be via local road L-6012-18 and L-21012-0 in Glen/Kilnamanage.
  • Road strengthening will take place on the Local road L-6101-18 Streamstown/Halfquarter.  The works will start on Friday 30th March and are expected to take 1 day.  A diversion will be in operation for the duration of works on site – the diversion will be the N59 and local road L-6101-0 Lisduff.
  • Hoarding has been erected at the corner of Lord Edward Street and Union Street. Provision has been made for pedestrian access and works are expected to last several weeks.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.
  • Hoarding to be erected on Wine Street in front of the Gaiety Cinema on Monday the 20th March, 2017 for four weeks. Provision for pedestrian access will be provided. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
  • A Scaffolding licence has been granted for Connolly Street, Sligo. Works are expected to last 2 weeks. Minimal traffic disruption expected.
  • Ongoing Road Openings to take place at various locations over the coming weeks due to broadband upgrade.  Minimal traffic disruption expected.
  • Works will take place on the entrance to The Fairgreen, Temple Street.  These are expected to last 2 weeks. Minimal traffic disruption expected

  

Enniscrone Area

  • Drainage works will be carried out on the N59 at Carnaree. Traffic lights will be in operation. Minor delays expected.
  • Drainage works will be carried out on the Ladies Brea. A temporary road closure will be in place (local access will be provided) diversions via Lough Easkey road and the Hungary rock.
  • Footpath works will be carried out on the Cliff Road, Enniscrone. Traffic lights will be in operation, Minor delays expected.
  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Enniscrone area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

Ballymote Area

  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected

  

  

Tubbercurry Area

  • Bridge repair works will commence on the R294 at Annagh Bridge, Tubbercurry. Traffic control will be in operation with minor delays expected.  Works are expected to last 2 weeks.
  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area. Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
