Road and Traffic Report

Traffic Report W/C 16th April, 2018

Sligo Town

  • A scaffolding licence has been granted for Finisklin Road 40m west of the Inner Relief Road Junction.  The scaffolding will be on the footpath with pedestrians catered for and no traffic delays are expected.
  • A scaffolding licence has been granted for 16 Quay Street.  The scaffolding will be on the footpath with pedestrians catered for and no traffic delays are expected.
  • A scaffolding licence has been granted for 10 Temple Street.  The scaffolding will be on the footpath with pedestrians catered for and no traffic delays are expected.
  • Fencing works will continue on the Western Distributor Road Phase 2 in the townlands of Ballydoogan, Oakfield, Maugheraboy and Caltragh.  Traffic management will be in place on the Oakfield Road L– 3601, the Ballydoogan Road L– 9406 and Rusheen Lane in Caltragh for access and egress to the site.  Minor delays are expected with works expected to be complete on the 20th April.
      

Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract:

  • Minor works in roads and footpaths with minimal disruption to traffic. Pedestrian access will be maintained
      

N16 between Abbvie roundabout and Regional Stores:

  • Road Works will continue on the N16 Manorhamilton Road between the Abbvie Roundabout and the Regional Stores.  The works include the upgrading of the existing road pavement with some footpath and drainage works.  These works will intensive in the coming week and diversions and longer traffic delays are inevitable.  A traffic management plan is in place but motorists are still advised to avoid the area if at all possible.  
      

Kilsellagh to Ballinode Pipeline Replacement Contract:

  • Pipelaying along The Mall (Hospital roundabout to Connaghton Road junction) is continuing at night (7pm-7am).  Minor works will be ongoing during the day at localised sites on the Manorhamilton Road & Mollaway Hill.  Traffic control in all areas using traffic lights or Stop/Go system.  Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.  

 

Enniscrone Area

  • Pothole repair and Surface Drainage works will continue in the Enniscrone area.  Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
  • Road widening and pipe laying will be carried out on the Rathosey/Seeviness road L6801-67.  A temporary road closure will be in place.  Local access will be provided.  Diversion via Loop road L68022-0 and L6802-27.

  

Ballymote Area

  • Pothole repair and Surface Drainage works will continue in the Ballymote area.  Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

  

Tubbercurry Area

  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area.  Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

  

Strandhill Area

  • Local community groups will be carrying out litter picking on the R290 between Ballygawley and Collooney on Saturday 14th April.
  • Access to Ballisodare Village will be restricted between 4pm and 4.30pm on Friday 20th April due to the visit of President Higgins.  Temporary diversions will be in place via Collooney and N4 Dual Carriageway.   Local access only to the village via the Sligo town approach.

   

Sligo-Drumcliffe Area

  • Roadworks will take place on Local Road No. L-3204-0, Newtown, Grange on Monday 16th April.  Works expected to last 2 days.  Traffic Management will be in operation.  Motorists to exercise caution.
  • Roadworks will take place on Local Road No. L-3404-0, Tormore, Glencar on Monday 16th April.  Works expected to last 4 days.  Traffic Management will be in operation.  Motorists to exercise caution.
  • Roadworks will take place on Local Road No. L-7204-0, Rinroe, Grange on Wednesday 18th April.  Works expected to last 2 days.  Traffic Management will be in operation.  Motorists to exercise caution.
  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Sligo-Drumcliffe Area.  Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected. 
     

N16 Lugatober Road Project:

  • Ground Investigation works will take place along the N16 (Sligo to Manorhamilton) between the townlands of Drumkilsellagh and Lugnagall, until mid April.  Traffic Management will be in operation which may cause some delays.  Motorists are urged to proceed with caution.
