Traffic Report W/C 14th May, 2018

Sligo Town

  • A scaffolding licence has been granted for Finisklin Road 40m west of the Inner Relief Road Junction.  The scaffolding will be on the footpath with pedestrians catered for and no traffic delays are expected. 
      

Sligo City Watermain Rehabilitation and Pearse Road Sewer Network Contract:

  • Minor works in roads and footpaths with minimal disruption to traffic.  Pedestrian access will be maintained.
           

N16 between Abbvie roundabout and Regional Stores:

  • Road Works will continue on the N16 Manorhamilton Road between the Abbvie Roundabout and the Regional Stores.  The works include the upgrading of the existing road pavement with some footpath and drainage works.  These works are now at a critical phase which necessitates a significant traffic diversion for cars and light goods vehicles travelling towards Sligo on the N16.  This traffic will be diverted off the N16 at Doonally Cross and directed towards Sligo via Rathbraughan Line, the Old Bundoran Road and Ballytivnan Road.  HGV’s will be allowed to continue to use the N16, but will experience varying delays as they approach the works.  Delays are inevitable on all approaches to these works and motorists are advised to take alternative routes where possible. 
  • Resurfacing of the junction of The Manorhamilton Road / Ash Lane / Molloway Hill / The Dromahair Road will take place during the evening and night of Monday May 14th and Tuesday May 15th.  These works will cause major disruption locally, and the junction should be avoided if possible.
            

Kilsellagh to Ballinode Pipeline Replacement Contract:

  • Pipelaying along The Mall (Connaughton Road junction to Bridge Street) is continuing during the day (8am-7pm).  One way traffic lane will be maintained.  nbsp;Reduction in parking bays will occur.  Minor works will be ongoing during the day at localised sites on the Manorhamilton Road, Mollaway Hill and The Mall.  Traffic control in all areas using traffic lights or Stop/Go system.  Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

  

Enniscrone Area

  • Sligo County Council will be undertaking a Road Pavement Recycling scheme on the bog rampart in the Townland of Camcuill (approximately 3km west of Dromore West).  The works include the upgrading of the existing road pavement with some drainage works.  The N59 National Secondary Road will be closed to public traffic from a point 385m north east of the junction with the L-6413-18 to a point 394m south west of the junction with the L-6707-0.  The period of closure is between 9.30 a.m. on Monday, 14th May 2018 and 8.00pm on Monday, 25th June 2018, both dates inclusive.  Local access will be provided to residents only.  This road closure is necessary to facilitate road reconstruction works in the townland of Camcuill.
  • Users of this road are requested to follow the signed diversion routevia the Coast Road (R297 and R298); Turn at N59 / R297 junction in Dromore West travelling west via Easkey Village to the junction with the R298 in the Townland of Cloonaderavally.  Then travel south via the R298 to the junction with the N59 in the townland of Carrownurlar.
  • Traffic management will be in place in Easky Village to facilitate the flow of traffic in the village.  Coning will be in place on one side of the road to prevent parking.
  • Sligo County Council would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may arise as a result of the proposed works and advise people to allow additional time for their journeys.
  • Pothole repair and Surface Drainage works will continue in the Enniscrone area.  Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.
  • Road widening and pipe laying will be carried out on the Rathosey/Seeviness road L6801-67.  A temporary road closure will be in place.  Local access will be provided. Diversion via Loop road L68022-0 and L6802-27.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out in Emilymoran.  Diversion via Carha school, Co Mayo to Knockbrack, Co. Sligo.  Local access will be provided.  A 50km/hr speed limit will be in operation within the works area.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out on the L2302-0 (39) in Ballygillcash.  A temporary road closure will be in place.  Local access will be provided.  Diversion via N59 and L6307-0 (Flying Horse).  A 50km/hr speed limit will be in operation within the works area.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out on the L6301-0 (40) in Aughris.  A temporary road closure will be in place. Local access will be provided.   Diversion via L2302-0 (39) and L2301 (18) A 50km/hr speed limit will be in operation within the works area.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out on the L27019-0 in Killeenduff.  A temporary road closure will be in place. Local access will be provided.  Diversion via R297, L6414, L27014 or L27014-0.  A 50km/hr speed limit will be in operation within the works area.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out on the L4602-0 (449) in Carrowneden.   A temporary road closure will be in place.  Local access will be provided.  Diversion via L8601-0 (513) and L4601 (462).  A 50km/hr speed limit will be in operation within the works area.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out on the L2205-0 (35) on the Ladies Brea. A temporary road closure will be in place.  Local access will be provided.  Diversion via L6213-25-0 (27) or L6801-0 (2) and L2801-0 (1) or L6804-0 (4) and L2801-0 (1). A 50km/hr speed limit will be in operation within the works area.
  • Road Restoration will be carried out on the L6208-0 (20) in Carrownree/Ardbrone/ Carrowgillhooly. A temporary road closure will be in place. Local access will be provided.  Diversion via N59 and L6209-0 (19) and L2204-0 (10).  A 50km/hr speed limit will be in operation within the works area.
  • Footpath repairs will be carried out on the Burma Road, Enniscrone.  Traffic management will be in place, minor delays expected.

  

Ballymote Area

  • Pothole repair and Surface Drainage works will continue in the Ballymote area.  Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

  

Tubbercurry Area

  • Pothole repair works will continue in the Tubbercurry area.  Traffic control will be in operation but no delays are expected.

  

Sligo-Drumcliffe Area

  • Roadworks will take place on Local Road No. L-3303-0, Ballygilgan, Lissadell on Monday 14th May.  Works expected to last 5 days.  Traffic Management will be in operation.  Motorists to exercise caution.
