Sligo JPC Draft Strategic Plan


Joint Policing Committees were established under the Garda Síochána Act 2005 to provide a forum to develop greater consultation, cooperation and accountability between An Garda Síochána, Local Authorities and elected representatives, with the participation of the community and voluntary sector, on the management of policing and crime issues.  The Sligo Joint Policing Committee consists of 25 members, including elected Members and officials of Sligo County Council, Oireachtas Members, representatives of the Garda Commissioner, and members nominated by the Public Participation Network (PPN).

The Sligo Joint Policing Committee (JPC) has commenced the preparation of a 6 Year Strategic Plan for the period 2017 to 2022.  The Plan will identify strategic priorities and key objectives to de delivered over the life of the plan, the implementation of which will be overseen by the Joint Policing Committee.  A copy of the Draft Strategic Plan is available to download below.  Alternatively a copy may be requested by e-mail to
