Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for inclusion on panels, from which offers of employment may be made, for the following posts:
(a) Annual Retainer of €7,562 per annum
(b) Fees for attendance at drills: €19.86 per hour
(c) Fees for attendance at call-outs: €39.72 (first hour) €19.86 (per hour thereafter)
The fees are doubled for call-outs between 10.00 p.m. and 7.00 a.m. and on weekends and public holidays.
Sligo County Council reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on the information submitted on their application form. Candidates who are shortlisted will be called to undergo a number of aptitude tests to determine their suitability to become a fire-fighter. All successful candidates from the aptitude tests will subsequently be called for interview. It is a requirement that successful candidates must reside within five minutes of their preferred station.
